Parnassos Mt

It was established as a National Park in 1938, together with Mount Olympus National Park. The site (3513 hectares) includes the National Park of Parnassos, with one part in Viotia and the rest in Fokida Prefectures. The predominate climate is continental with a relatively cold yet dry summer period, rainy autumn, and heavy winter, the latter lasting from many months. From December to March it is covered by snow, reaching up to 4m from the ground. The dominant tree species is Abies cephalonica, endemic greek fir, forming pure extensive stands. Delfi archeological site is a must stop after ascending the top of the mountain
