Introducing image-stabilised binoculars to our private birding tours in Greece
We are pleased to announce a new collaboration between Greece Bird Tours and Kite Optics, as we join the Kite Optics Ambassador programme.
Kite Optics is a European optical brand specialising in binoculars and other optics for birdwatching and nature observation, including its range of APC image-stabilised binoculars.
As an active bird guide, I am particularly interested in the potential of image stabilisation in real-world birdwatching. Rather than simply talking about the technology, I will be using the binoculars extensively in the field and introducing them to our guests.
Try them during a private birding tour
One of the advantages of Greece Bird Tours is that most of our tours are private and personalised. This gives us the opportunity to spend time with each guest and adapt the experience to their interests, birding style and equipment.

For birdwatchers who have never used stabilised binoculars before, we believe that actually trying them in the field is much more useful than simply reading about them.
You can observe distant birds, birds in flight and fine details through the stabilised view and decide for yourself whether this technology adds something to your birdwatching experience.
Starting with the APC 12×42 ED
I will initially be using and testing the Kite Optics APC 12×42 ED, one of the models in the APC 42 ED range.
Over the coming months, I will be putting the binoculars through their paces in real birdwatching conditions in Greece and will share my own observations and experience.
Rather than offering an immediate verdict, I want to spend enough time with the binoculars to understand how they perform in different situations and whether image stabilisation genuinely makes a difference during everyday birdwatching.
A detailed field review will follow after extended use.
