During peak spring migration, we will explore Lesvos’ famous hotspots: saltpans, wetlands, olive groves, mountain slopes, coastal marshes, rivers, and traditional farming landscapes that make the island one of Europe’s most exciting birding destinations.
Expect excellent chances for specialties and eastern Mediterranean species including shrikes, buntings, rollers, bee-eaters, woodpeckers, warblers, flycatchers, raptors, herons, waders, and migrating passerines arriving daily from Africa and Asia.
You will also experience the authentic side of Lesvos: traditional villages, volcanic landscapes, hidden tavernas, local flavors, mountain scenery, coffee stops in quiet village squares, and the atmosphere that has made the island legendary among birders for decades.
